Hicks holds two scholarships

Baltimore (Md.) St. Frances defensive tackle Dyaire Hicks has two offers to date. The 6-foot-3, 275-pounder is gaining interest after a huge junior season.
"Right now, Marshall and Rutgers are the only two offers," he said. "I know more people are interested in me, I'm definitely sure I'll get a lot more offers by summer time."

Hicks is just coming off a trip to nearby Maryland.
"I was at Maryland's junior day Saturday," he stated. "It was all right. I spent a lot of time with the defensive line coach. They said they were interested, but they've got to check more for me to get the offer."
Meanwhile, Purdue, West Virginia and Temple have also expressed an interest.
Does he like anyone?
"My favorite colleges, I like West Virginia a lot and Florida State," he said. "I just grew up watching their defenses and I like them."
As he examines and gains more options, what's he looking for?
"I'm looking for a college that will let me play for a position, a starting spot for three or four years," he said. "I'm just looking for a school that'll let me compete."
On the year, Hicks posted 59 tackles and 13.5 sacks while earning first team all-conference honors.
"I thought it was a good year," he said. "I wasn't quite as good as where I want to be next year, but I think I showed I'm quick and powerful. I can beat people with my feet and strength.
"I still want to work on my footwork a little more and you can always work on your speed."
