Hicks busy with trips, training

Dallas Carter running back Michael Hicks is not just sitting around waiting for things to happen.
The 5-foot-9, 185-pound North Texas prospect has made a couple of unofficial visits in the past few weeks. Getting ready for the NIKE Training Camp on April 22 in College Station has also been a priority for the top junior. Hicks' first couple of trips have gone well.

"I took one to Oklahoma last weekend," Hicks said. "It went okay. I like the facilities and stuff there. I got a chance to meet the coahces and all that. They told me I could play multiple positions if I went down there. They do like me at running back though right now. I went down there with my teammate Jeremiah Hatch."
Hicks also stopped by SMU for a spring practice.
"That's the only places I've went so far," Hicks said. "I coudln't get around as much as I would have liked because of track. The coaches at LSU want me to come down. They've been sending me text messages."
Hicks says his favorites remain LSU, Oklahoma, but Minnesota is making their way up the list.
"I like their run scheme at Minnesota," he said. "Coach said that he liked me and that I could come in there and do some special things."
