Hickman lands first three offers

One of the top linemen in the Golden State the past two years has been Bakersfield (Calif.) Centennial's Jacob Hickman. Hickman, 6-4, 245 pounds has been a dominant performer on both sides of the ball and is sitting on three Pac 10 offers right now.
Hickman was a Student Sports Sophomore All-American two years ago and earned first team all-state Underclass honors this past season. The lineman is very athletic with quick feet and could play on either side of the ball in college. He'll obviously need to add some weight to play on the offensive line in college but has everything else to excel at the next level.

Hickman attended last year's NorCal Nike Camp and clocked a 4.38 in the shuttle and jumped 28 inches in the vertical. He also shined in the position drills showing very good technique and toughness. Outside of football, Hickman plays ice hockey which has obviously helped his overall coordination and balance on the football field.
On the recruiting front, Hickman has scholarship offers from UCLA, Arizona State and Arizona and is also hearing from USC, Nebraska, Oregon, Washington and Notre Dame.
"I grew up a big Notre Dame fan but USC is my top school right now," Hickman said. "Notre Dame, UCLA, ASU and Arizona are also in my top five. I'm looking for a school that has great tradition and prestige where I can also get a good education. I would like to major in Engineering at the college I decide to attend."
Academically, Hickman is carrying a 3.4 GPA and will take the SAT later in the year. He'll attend the Nike Camp at Stanford as well as Arizona's team camp.
