Hickey makes the call

It was certainly a close call for offensive tackle prospect Sean Hickey. This senior from Murrysville, Pa. was torn between Illinois, Syracuse and Boston College. Today the 6-6 and 280 pounder from Franklin Regional High School made the call.
"I committed to Syracuse earlier today," Hickey said. "It was hard and basically a three-way coin flip. I just had a feeling with Syracuse and the way coach (Doug) Marrone has them going. The OL attention I will get with him and coach (Greg) Adkins is going to be great. Syracuse is on the right track. I mean they were a few points away this season from being a bowl team. This recruiting class coming in will be something special down the line."

Another big reason why Hickey selected the Orangemen over the Eagles and Illini was the staff itself.
"Man they make you feel so comforable. Marrone is so laid back. We just talked normal stuff. We talked about the NFL teams and who was doing what. It's a very relaxed environment and they didn't put any pressure on me. My visit was great there. I had urges to commit to all three schools after my visits. Once I took my visit up there it blew me away.
"It's a great situation for me as a player there. Syracuse is just a great opportunity and I felt real comfortable."
