Chester (Pa.) Cardinal O'Hara running back Anthony Heygood has been in deep thought over the last several weeks. He had narrowed his college choice to two schools, then added one, but is now back to two. He will make his final intentions known next week.
“He called me today and said he would have a press conference Monday between 1:30 and 2:00,” commented Anthony’s mother, Leslie Heygood. “It will be between Purdue and West Virginia.”
While Notre Dame had jumped into the mix after offering a late scholarship, the Fighting Irish are no longer in the picture.
“He said he was not even considering their scholarship, since they came in so late,” Mrs. Heygood said. Anthony visited Purdue on Dec. 12 and West Virginia on Jan. 9 for his only two official visits.
Heygood is rated the No. 20 running back in the country by Rivals.com at 6-foot-2 and 210 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
