Heygood names new leaders

Springfield (Pa.) Cardinal O’Hara three-star running back Anthony Heygood has completed over half of his senior season, and has reshuffled the college teams he is interested in. Rated the No. 20 running back in the nation by Rivals.com, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound athlete said five schools currently lead for his signature.
Purdue, Michigan, Wisconsin, Boston College, and West Virginia have jumped to the top of Heygood’s list, and all but the Wolverines have extended scholarship offers. What makes these schools stand out to him?

“At Purdue they are running a lot this year, more than normal, and they move the ball really well. At Michigan, I just like the big school atmosphere.
“Wisconsin has a tradition of great running backs, Boston College has a good college atmosphere, and West Virginia runs a lot. Their entire offense is running.”
Heygood made the all-area team as a junior and has continued to put up good numbers as a senior. So far in a strike-shortened season, he has led his team to a 4-1 record, rushing for 700 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Anthony has talked to coaches at Boston College, Purdue, and West Virginia about official visits, but has not set any up yet. He has not been able to attend any games this fall, since his high school games are played on Saturdays.
Heygood said he in not in any hurry to make a decision. He plans to wait until January or February to make an announcement.
