Hewitt grabs in-state offer

Denver (Colo.) Mullen tight end Ryan Hewitt has had plenty of schools coming after him from all over the nation.
He picked up early offers from places like Arizona State, Stanford and Washington State, but a few regional schools had waited to throw their hat in the ring.

But that changed recently when both Colorado and Wyoming joined Arizona state, Colorado State, Stanford and Washington State on his offer list.
Hewitt, who is 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, said he was obviously excited about the big in-state offer from Colorado.
"Two of their coaches contacted my coach and told me they were sending out the written offer tomorrow," Hewitt said. "They said Dan Hawkins would be calling me in the next couple of weeks. It's a pretty cool offer. I'm really excited about it."
Regardless it doesn't sound like Hewitt is in any rush to make a decision.
"I want to see how things play out," he said.
Hewitt was named honorable mention all-Centennial League last fall after he hauled in 12 passes.
"I think my blocking and my ability to get open and catch the ball are my best attributes," he said.
