Hewitt adds two more offers

Lufkin, Texas, wide receiver/cornerback Leonard Hewitt injured his medial collateral and anterior cruciate ligaments late last season, but he's now back working hard and should be ready to rock and roll by the start of fall drills. The injury hasn't scared away three major programs from offering him, he said.
"I had an offer from Texas Tech, but I just got an offer from Texas A&M the other day and LSU offered me also," Hewitt, who is 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, said. "I called and talked to the coaches at the school about the offer. They said they were excited about me. It was real nice to get those offers."

Lufkin has produced some great players over the years and it seems like many of them have been College Station bound. Hewitt said he's thinking now about doing his "own thing."
"A&M was right for those guys, and I don't know if it is for me," Hewitt said. "I still have al ong way to go, but I want to explore all of my options."
Two of those other options are Texas and Oklahoma. Neither have offered Hewitt yet, but he said he'd be very interested in the Horns and Sooners if they pursued him heavier.
"Coach (Mac) McWhorter wants me to come down next weekend," he said. "And I just got a letter from Oklahoma today. I've been meaning to call them, but I haven't yet."
Hewitt is trying to make it to this weekend's NIKE Training Camp in Ft. Worth, but he will not be able to work out because of his injury.
