Herrod leaning to NC State

Safety / wide receiver Donte Herrod has an impressive list of offers to choose from, and he's beginning to narrow things down. He has one clear-cut leader. When can we expect a decision?
The 6-foot-2, 190-pound safety / receiver from Washington (D.C.) H.D. Woodson runs the 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and has offers from schools like NC State, Michigan State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Syracuse, plus several others.
"NC State is my favorite school now," said Herrod. "I've liked them for a long time and I think they're building something special. I like how they just play wide open on offense and defense, and they love athletic guys that can come in and increase team speed. I think I would fit in well to what they want to do. I've set up an official visit to NC State for the weekend of Dec. 12."
Herrod said the Pack holds a sizeable lead over several other schools, but that he's open to listening to anyone interested in him. Who else does he like?
"I've got an official visit to Syracuse coming up on Dec. 5, so I'll know a lot after that's over. I really like the Carrier Dome, and they have a really consistent football team year in and year out. The two Virginia schools, UVA and Virginia Tech, have shown a whole lot of interest in me. They've recruited me really hard for a while now. Michigan State is probably also in my top five, just because they have a great coaching staff and it looks like they're really turning things around."
When will Herrod announce his decision?
"I want to at least take those official visits to Syracuse and NC State before announcing anything," he said. "Those two really are the two I'm considering the most, so if I'm really blown away by one of them I might commit."
