Herring sets four trips

Batesville (Miss.) South Panola linebacker Chris Herring said he still considers himself an Ole Miss commitment, but that's not going to stop him from taking other visits.
And other visits, he will take.

"I was supposed to visit Auburn this weekend, but they didn't get my test results back, so we're going to re-work that," Herring, who is 6-foot-2 and 260 pounds, said.
"I've now lined up trips to State on Nov. 30, UGA on Dec. 7, Ole Miss on Dec. 14. I'm also going to Tennessee on Jan. 18. I don't know when I'm going to Auburn, but I'd like to check that place out, too."
With football season already over, Herring has now shifted his attention to basketball and recruiting.
After finishing with 120 tackles, four sacks and four interceptions, Herring said he still considers himself a soft Ole Miss pledge but he needs to make sure he made the right decision.
"The coaches know," Herring said. "I told them that I needed to be 100 percent sure. I'm not at this point, so I need to make sure."
Herring has been back on the basketball court for three games. He said he has already had several impressive dunks.
"I did a two-handed one over this guy," Herring said with a laugh. "He couldn't stop me."
