Melbourne (Fla.) Holy Trinity Academy defensive back Ray Herring has a number of scholarship offers on the table. Herring has made a couple of unofficial visits. He is also thinking about his official visits.
"I've been on unofficial visits to Florida and Miami," Herring said. "I went to both their spring games. I'm not sure if I'll visit anyone else this summer."
"I'd say I have about 21 offers the last I counted."
"I'm looking at Tennessee, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Florida, Virginia Tech, North Carolina, and Ohio State. All of them except Florida and Virginia Tech have offered."
"Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, and Tennessee, I know I'll take official visits to those three. Then I have to get two more."
"I don't have a favorite."
The 5-foot-10 and 187 pound Herring made 149 tackles and intercepted seven passes his junior season. Herring also caught 31 passes, averaged 26.8 yards per grab, and scored 12 times. He will play on defense at the next level.
