Hentges continues to take visits

Hale Hentges hasn't been shy with visits this summer. He'll be well acquainted with the lay of the lay of the land at most interested schools before he books a single official visit - assuming those are even necessary.
The four-star tight end's latest round of travel wrapped up last week and included four stops, And now that's he's returned from Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State, he has some takes on what he saw. Of course they're all positive and full of clichés, then, so goes the nature of recruiting.

Hentges has always been good at playing things close to his vest. That hasn't changed.
"I really enjoyed all the visits this time," Hentges said on Tuesday night. "I liked how they all use the tight end and all that. I really enjoyed talking to all the head coaches, too. You hear this a lot, but Alabama weight room is just incredible. But I really enjoyed all of them, not just Alabama."
Even with those trips in the book, the offseason travel will move forward. Hentges and his family are aggressive and meticulous when it comes to his college decision. It's why there's little rest built into the schedule. Next week will feature a tour of Auburn and a return trip to Alabama.
Eventually, everything Hentges sees on the road will be processed and result in a trimming of his offer list, which currently stands at 29 schools.
"After these spring visits and maybe a few in the summer, I really want to cut it down and hopefully get a commitment out before my senior season," he said.
According to Hentges, no school is a lock to make it through his impending cut at the time being, but things should become clearer after his next round of visits.
As a junior at Jefferson City (Mo.) Helias High School, Hentges caught 61 passes for 940 yards and 15 touchdowns.
