Heimuli big weekend pays off

It's official, Salt Lake City (Utah) Brighton four-star defensive tackle Ricky Heimuli is one of the hottest targets not just in the West, but the entire country.
After picking up scholarship offers from virtually everybody in the Pac 10 and Mountain West Conferences, Heimuli scored a major scholarship offer Wednesday afternoon.

"Ricky just received his 16th offer and ninth from the Pac-10," Heimuli's brother, Sefo, told Rivals.com. "He received an offer from the University of Southern California."
Heimuli's visited Los Angeles this past weekend to watch USC practice on Saturday and then he dominated at the NIKE Training Camp held on the Trojans' campus on Sunday.
"Ricky was really excited and had a chance to speak with head coach Pete Carroll and defensive coordinator Rocky Seto, and with the coach that has been recruiting him the last few months, Brian Schneider, about the offer," Heimuli said about his brother.
"Ricky is really excited because he had a first-hand look last Saturday when he visited USC and got to watch their scrimmage. Ricky will attend their Rising Stars Camp this summer."
Heimuli now has scholarship offers from USC, Oklahoma, Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Cal, Colorado, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oregon State, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, Washington, Washington State and Utah State.
Penn State and Michigan are two programs that have shown a lot of interest at this point, but neither have offered him.
Heimuli impressed Rivals.com analyst Barry Every with his performance at the NIKE Camp.
"The main thing is his bull rush, but there wasn't anybody that stopped him," Every said. "He would just push the blockers back into the quarterback's spot. He's really strong. He is one of the top defensive tackles in the West. In other years, he might not be, but in this year's class he definitely is."
