Heffern waiting on more offers

Carmel, Indiana defensive end Shawn Heffern has received offers from two Big Ten schools and right now, not surprisingly, those two schools are at the top of his list.
That said, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive end plans on waiting a little while longer to find out whether any other offers will be coming in.

"I'm waiting on schools like Louisville, Illinois and Michigan State," Heffern said on Friday.
Heffern recently attended camps at Notre Dame and Michigan State. Those seemed to go well.
"I performed really well at Notre Dame and the staff said they were impressed," he recalled. "The issue is the lack of scholarship spots at defensive end. They told me they weren't going to offer because they don't have enough spots left.
"Michigan State thought I performed well. They said they'll review that and then let me know what will happen from there."
Heffern is now done with camps for the summer. He has offers from Indiana and Purdue, two in-state BCS conference schools.
"If everything goes as planned hopefully I can decide by the first week of August," he said. "Of the schools that have offered it's between Indiana and Purdue. If other schools haven't offered I don't think I'll wait until my senior season."
