Heffern staying busy

Carmel, Indiana defensive end Shawn Heffern has been keeping busy this summer and the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive end isn't ready to slow down yet.
On June 11, Heffern made the short trip to Indiana to visit the Hoosiers. He then camped at Northwestern for a day and on June 23, he was at Notre Dame.

"I had a really good time at IU," he recalled. "I got to actually meet most of the players and that was good. I liked them a lot. I got to know the coaches more. I had already seen all the facilities so it was good to see that again.
"I like the coaches at Northwestern a lot. I thought I did well at the camp. We're supposed to talk on Monday. I know they're looking at me as an offensive tackle but I know they had another offensive tackle commit, so I'm not sure how that affects things.
"I performed really well at Notre Dame, too. I ran a 4.30 shuttle and I was happy with that. I couldn't run the 40 because I had a pulled hamstring. They switched me over to defensive end at the end. I don't know how that will work because they're not recruiting that many defensive ends since they signed so many in the last class."
As mentioned, don't expect Heffern to slow down just yet.
"Monday I'm going to visit Purdue and then July 11, I'm going to the Michigan State camp," he concluded.
