Heffern likes IU but remains open

It should come as no surprise that Indiana is a school that Shawn Heffern thinks highly of these days.
After all, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound defensive end from Carmel, Ind., knows a lot abou the Hoosiers. He has visited the school and perhaps most importantly, Indiana is the first school from a BCS conference that has offered him a scholarship.

Western Michigan and Central Michigan have also offered, but Indiana is the only one of those three schools that he has visited.
"I visited IU last season for a football game and also for their junior day," Heffern explained this week.
"I really liked it. They have top of the line facilities so I was really impressed."
Does that mean Indiana is his favorite?
"No, it's pretty wide open right now," he replied. "Pretty much every school in the Big Ten has come in to school to talk to me. I'm just waiting it out to see what offers I'll be getting. Once I feel like I've got all the offers I'm going to get then I'll make a decision."
Heffern said he plans on attending anywhere between three and five camps this summer. He just doesn't know exactly where he'll be camping yet.
"I'm waiting until the last week of May to decide on that," he explained. "A lot of schools have said they're close to offering so I think I'm going to wait and see what happens and then decide that."
Heffern did mention that he will "probably" end up going to Notre Dame and "might" camp at Purdue.
