Heels recruiting WR Smith

Cincinnati (Ohio) Western Hills wide receiver Josh Smith has been hearing from North Carolina lately. Could the Tar Heels offer him soon?
For starters, that's too tough to tell at this early juncture.

North Carolina has offered a good number of wide receivers and depending on what happens with at least one of them, the Heels could decide to jump into the mix for Smith.
"I've been talking to Coach Pittman and I might try to get down there sometime," Smith explained early this weekend. "Depending on what happens with an in-state kid that they've offered they could offer me. If he messes around then I might have a spot."
While it's difficult to know for certain that in-state recruit could be Kedrick Davis, a wide receiver that has Kentucky and UNC at the top of his list.
Speaking of Kentucky, at one point the Wildcats were in hot pursuit of Smith. Has that changed?
"I really don't know what's going on with them," Smith said. "I know a lot about their basketball team but not much about their football program. I think they were going to offer but I don't know. I've looked at their dates for camp. I'm looking at a lot of schools right now."
Smith already knows for certain that he will be camping at Indiana from June 13-15. He'll also be at Northwestern (July 27) and he wants to get out to Purdue and Western Kentucky for either camps or visits.
Last fall Smith hauled in 32 receptions for 590 yards and nine scores.
