Heels making push for Arkansas DB

Three-star Little Rock (Ark.) Pulaski Academy defensive back Stephen Green may have a new leader emerging in his recruiting process.
“North Carolina has come on really strong the last month,” he said. “They probably call me more than anybody else right now, and they came out to see me at the state championship game and then at our house.

“My mom really likes them right now, especially after coach Hunter came to visit. I’m going to visit them on Jan. 9.”
Green (5-11, 180, 4.4) also plans to visit Nebraska and Missouri. Those dates aren’t set in stone, but will likely be Jan. 16th and Jan. 23, respectively.
“Those are my top three,” he said. “It will probably be one of them. I still like Nebraska and coach Gill a lot. I’m kind of waiting to see what happens with their coaching situation. I like the Missouri coaches, too. All three have good programs and good schools.”
He was also considering Iowa, but has since dropped them from his list.
“They have a good program, but I just didn’t like them as much as the other three,” he said.
As a senior, Green helped lead Pulaski Academy to a 13-2 record and the Class 3A state championship. He rushed for 1,602 yards and 23 touchdowns and had two touchdown receptions. On the defensive side of the ball, he recorded 99 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, eight pass break-ups, three interceptions, three sacks and two forced fumbles.
Green is rated the No. 38 safety in the nation by Rivals.com.
