Heels Get A Heckuva LB

It's official. Linebacker Joe Kedra from Cherry Hill (N.J.) Camden Catholic has given a verbal commitment to the University of North Carolina. The 6-foot-4, 225-pound four-star 'backer felt that the Tar Heel program was the best fit.
"It was down to UNC and Penn State, but I just felt so comfortable at UNC," said the 6-foot-4, 225-pounder. "I'm happy it's over because it was a lot of pressure. So many people were telling me that I should go here or go there, but I needed to do what was right for me, this was it. I called UNC 15 minutes ago to tell them."

Joe had more than 30 offers as an outside or inside linebacker. His 4.65-second 40-yard dash speed combined with great size made him a prime target for many major programs throughout the country.
Joes teammate, quarterback Nick Cangelosi, committed to North Carolina over the summer and many thought that would influence Joe's decision.
"It really didn't," Joe said. "I mean you can call it a little security blanket for both of us being from the same high school and same state. We can lean on each other if need be, but that wasn't my reason for choosing UNC. I really liked the coaches down there, I knew it was the place for me."
Joe and his family plan on going to UNC again this weekend to make things official. So far this season, Camden Catholic is 4-0 and Joe has 40 tackles, one interception and two sacks.
