Heck talks UNC commitment

Like many on Wednesday, Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles offensive tackle Jon Heck was caught off-guard by the news of Butch Davis' termination at the University of North Carolina.
"Obviously I was surprised," Heck said. "I knew that there was a possibility that this could happen, when I committed to UNC I knew this was a possibility."

For the 6-foot-6, 280-pound offensive lineman, the news is disappointing but not something that is causing him to rethink his earlier decisions.
"It is unfortunate and I wish that I could still play under Coach (Butch) Davis but like I said I considered this possibility from the get-go, so I am still a 100% committed to UNC," Heck said.
Some Tar Heel commitments have mentioned the possibility of taking visits and seeing other schools, but that isn't the case for Heck.
"I am done with the recruiting process as long as I am still wanted at UNC," Heck said. "Even if there was a full staff change then I would still want to go to UNC."
The three-star lineman chose North Carolina over Virginia in late June. He also held an offer from Miami.
