Heavily recruited running back eases into recruitment

THE LATEST: Nayquan Wright sees no reason for urgency. He’s not rushing through his recruitment or looking to make a quick commitment. The class-of-2019 prospect seems to be the portrait of patience.

Wright, one of the top running backs in his class, took zero unofficial visits this fall, but did attend Miami’s game with Florida State in Miami. That, it seems, is what passes for a recruiting trip at this early stage.

His thoughts on Miami? Those are still being formed.

“The running backs coach is recruiting me,” Wright said “I like how they treat running backs because I’ve talked to some of their running backs. That might not be a bad look.”

IN HIS WORDS: “I want to learn more about Alabama, West Virginia, LSU, Georgia, Miami, Florida State. …I haven’t even really sat down to look at any schools yet. I’m pretty young. No schools stand out right now because I can’t even talk to coaches. They either tell my coaches thing or send mail. “

RIVALS REACTION: Wright seems like the rare prospect that has actually given his recruitment little thought. He names no favorites, but it’s clear that schools such as Miami, Georgia, Florida State, Alabama, West Virginia and Tennessee have his attention. Guessing where he might land at this point, is worthless. His recruitment will have a more defined shape as he heads into his junior season.
