Headley misses playoffs, works on recruiting

It was one game that kept Grapevine, Texas quarterback Steven Headley and his teammates from heading to the playoffs. However, the 6-foot, 205-pound signal caller is now focused heavily on making sure his recruitment goes the best it can.
Though he has gathered up offers from Sam Houston State and Stephen F. Austin, he is looking mainly at two other teams to possibly add to the list. After taking a trip to Louisiana Tech two weekends ago, he has added them and Texas A&M to his favorites list hoping for a scholarship.

"It's really between A&M and Louisiana Tech," Headley said. "Louisiana Tech said they wanted me to come down so they could take a look at me. They don't have a problem with me being 6-foot, and he said usually they offer after you take a visit."
While he waits on Tech, Texas A&M has told him to be patient.
"I had a talk with coach Dennis Franchione from A&M and he said that they would be in touch," Headley said. "I'll probably have to wait until these teams finish their regular season before I decide."
Headley also brings up the point that even though the playoffs are out, he can still do plenty to work on his game.
"I'm going to keep throwing the ball, working on coverage, and improving," he said. "There is a lot you can do when you're not in a game situation."
