Hazelton opens things up

Back on December 30th, five-star wide receiver Vidal Hazelton chose Southern Cal over offers from Penn State, Miami, Tennessee and others. Recently rumors have persisted that the 6-foot-3, 193-pounder from Chatham (Va.) Hargrave Military may not be done with his recruitment since Rivals250 quarterback Pat Devlin has started to consider the Nittany Lions.
"I'm thinking about taking a visit to Penn State this weekend to meet with Joe Paterno," said Dexter Hazelton, Vidal's father. "The reason I'd go there is because there are a lot of rumors that Pat Devlin may be committing to Penn State and one of the things Vidal was hesitant about the Nittany Lions was their quarterback situation. I want to get a final look especially considering Penn State was one of his final choices and this whole situation changes things up a bit for Vidal.

"I wasn't able to see as much at Penn State on Vidal's visits so I just want to take another look around and talk with the coaches."
Devlin, who had committed to Miami but has been thinking twice since quarterbacks coach Dan Werner was fired, is rumored to be making a decision this week. That will impact Vidal.
"Over the recruiting process he and Pat have become good friends. I know that Vidal is expecting to talk to Pat tonight about what's going on and how he enjoyed his visit to State College. Right now, I'd say he's back and forth on his commitment to Southern Cal."
Is there anything else that's causing Hazelton to waver on USC?
"He loves USC, but the only factor that's a problem is the distance," he said. "He's concerned we won't be able to see him play."
Although it's not scheduled yet, Dexter is expecting a visit this Wednesday from Pete Carroll. Vidal is at Hargrave Military currently
