Hayworth lands ACC offer

Offer No. 2 has come for Kingsport (Tenn.) Dobyns Bennett offensive guard Ty Hayworth. The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder landed the scholarship earlier today from the ACC.
"I got offered by Wake Forest," he said. "It's kind of exciting. I wasn't expecting it.

"I went to camp this year and they told me when I was done that my transcripts were good and I had an offer. It was really exciting. I'm really in shock. It's like the Cincinnati one, it feels more realistic than the first one did."
Hayworth holds one other offer from Cincinnati. Is he planning to visit either school again?
"I was probably thinking about visiting these schools during the season, watching some games."
A few other schools are looking at Hayworth too.
"Right now I have a couple more schools that are interested, Vanderbilt may be possibly offering here in the next week or so, Georgia Tech should be some time soon and Coach Wiles texted and plans to talk to me this week."
Hayworth is looking forward to a big year ahead with Dobyns Bennett.
"I expect we're going to have a really good team this year," he said. "I found out yesterday I was selected preseason all-state," he said. "I just feel like we have a really good team this year and our goal is to win a state championship and bring one home."
