Haynes picks up second offer

Suwanee (Ga.) Peachtree Ridge wide receiver Sidney Haynes picked up his second offer Monday evening. Previously, held an offer from Ball State when he woke up on Monday morning, but he added an offer from a local ACC school later that day.
"Georgia Tech offered me today," Haynes said. "I went over to their practice today and they offered me after it was over."

Haynes received the news from the Jackets head man.
"Coach Chan Gailey told me that I fit the bill for Georgia Tech and he wanted to offer me a scholarship," he said.
Coach Gailey talked to Haynes about the position he could step into if he chose the Jackets.
"He told me that I could come in and fill the shoes of Calvin Johnson if he went to the NFL or I could play across from him if he stayed."
This offer was not expected.
"I knew they had some interest in me, but I did not expect the offer today," Haynes said.
Now Haynes has a leader.
"Georgia Tech is my No. 1 team," he said. "I really like the atmosphere, the academics, and I like that they are close to home."
Three SEC programs are currently second, third, and fourth on his list.
"I would say that Florida, Mississippi State, and Vanderbilt are others under consideration."
When asked if a commitment could be coming soon, Haynes said, "I am not sure yet."
Haynes is a 6-foot-4, 195-pound physical receiver and he finished his junior year with 668 yards on 34 receptions, and 5 touchdowns.
