Hayes dominates the line of scrimmage

We were in attendance lat Friday when Oakland (Calif.) McClymonds traveled north to take on Los Angeles (Calif.) Dorsey. Several players on both sides of the ball stood out including Dorsey lineman Jovon Hayes who had a dominating performance.
Hayes, 6-2, 320 pounds was the best lineman on the field on either side of the ball. We saw Hayes play two times in person last year but he has made a dramatic jump up in ability. In fact, every time we've seen Hayes dating back to the SoCal Nike camp in April, he has looked a little better each time. Dorsey loves to run the ball behind Hayes and he was opening up huge holes for All-American running back Stafon Johnson all game long.

Hayes was getting off the ball very well and several times had his man on the ground before he could even get out of his stance. The big lineman also showed quick feet while pulling and is very strong in his upper body. Once he locks on his man, it's over.
"We played a great game tonight," Hayes said. "We knew this was a big matchup and they have a lot of Div I players and a big, strong defensive line so it was a major challenge for us to be able to run the ball. Stafon played great and our line wore them down I think."
The last time we spoke with Hayes, he told he had yet to set up any of his official visits but did know the five schools he would visit. The lineman still has not set up any trips and has made one change in his top five list.

"Arizona is still high on my list too but I don't know if I'll take an official visit there since I've already visited there unofficially. Locally, I like still like USC a little but I'm not really hearing that much from them any more. I don't know when I'll take my visits, probably after the season. I don't really want to do anything during the season that will take the focus off on our team and trying to win a city title this year." Here to view this Link.
