Hawkins talks new Pac-12 offer

Jaylinn Hawkins has been talking a lot with the Washington State coaches but he was still surprised the Cougars offered in the last week or so.
It is another big offer for the 2015 prospect from Buena Park, Calif., who said he's definitely going to take a closer look at the program now that they're much more involved.

"They're just recruiting me as an athlete," Hawkins said.
"It's a good school. My uncle went there and he used to play there. I'm really not that familiar with it but I know some things about it. I'll look more into it.
"They've been talking a lot to me but I was surprised by the offer. I'm very happy about it. It was a blessing."
So far, Hawkins has been offered by Cal, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State and Washington State.
The Buena Park standout said many of the same coaches continue to talk with him and at least one Pac-12 program and one Big 10 school have stopped by his school in recent weeks.
Many Pac-12 programs have been in contact with Hawkins, who had a big junior season and can play on either side of the ball.
"I'm still talking to the same schools and the same coaches," Hawkins said. "I'm hearing from the same coaches every week. A lot of the coaches are visiting our school and coming to campus so I've been talking to them.
"Oregon came through on Tuesday, New Mexico State was here and Northwestern came by and that's about it so far."
