Hawkins sees recruiting get busy

Jaylinn Hawkins just wrapped up his junior season, he's working on his highlight tape and a lot of programs are reaching out.
The 2015 wide receiver from Buena Park, Calif., just landed an offer from Cal on Wednesday and he said many other programs including another one from the Pac-12 continues to show a lot of interest.

"I've been talking to Arkansas and a lot of schools," Hawkins said. "I'm really talking to Washington and basically the same schools.
"The way Washington is talking, what they're saying is that they need me in their program. They really like me and they contacted me. We're talking a lot. I talked to coach (Steve) Sarkisian and he was saying they need me in the program and they really like me. He was telling me what they need."
Now that Cal has offered, the 2015 receiver has four offers. Oregon State, San Diego State and San Jose State are also on board and Hawkins said many others are interested.
The Buena Park standout has already taken one unofficial visit to UCLA this season and he's planning a trip to USC for its game against the Bruins.
Cal told Hawkins that it likes him either on offense or defense. Since he had more than 100 tackles this season he could definitely shine at defensive back.
Next up is for Hawkins to finish his highlight tape and he's hoping more offers are coming soon.
"I'm going to keep on going to camps like I usually do and doing a lot of 7on7," Hawkins said. "I'm getting my highlight together. I'm not finished with it yet. I'm going to finish it either this week or next week for sure and I'll send that out. I'm just going to keep doing my thing."
