Hawkins plans SEC trip

Jaylinn Hawkins is taking a big SEC visit in the coming weeks and he's hopeful he likes what he sees in an unfamiliar part of the country.
The four-star wide receiver from Buena Park, Calif., plans to visit Mississippi State with Long Beach (Calif.) Poly quarterback Josh Love and he's excited about seeing what the Bulldogs have to offer.

"I should be going in two weeks with Josh," Hawkins said.
"I'm just looking for something outstanding. I'm looking at the education part because there is more than football. I'm looking at the school. I'm trying to get my degree and get my Master's and go to the NFL and have a successful life after football."
So far, the 6-foot, 180-pound receiver who looked good at the RCS Southern California has been offered by Cal, Fresno State, Northwestern, Oregon State, San Diego State, San Jose State, Utah and Washington State.
Hawkins, rated as the No. 32 wide receiver in the 2015 class by Rivals.com, said another Pac-12 offer is right around the corner as well.
Plus, the Buena Park recruit is hearing from some other Pac-12 powerhouses so he's hopeful things pick up a lot as the summer approaches.
"ASU has basically offered," Hawkins said. "I talked to the coach and he just needs to talk with the head coach just to make sure everything is set up.
"I'm hearing a lot from Oregon and UCLA has started to pick up. I've been in contact with them and they could offer, too. Once I talk to the coaches I think it will be official. I'm just enjoying recruiting right now and I'm shortening my list a little bit.
"The (ASU) coach contacted me after watching my film and said they were going to offer me. An offer is always a blessing."
