Hawkins has solid summer

Jeremiah Hawkins did his best at some camps this summer and it's paid off in a big way.
The 2017 three-star wide receiver from Buena Park, Calif., made one of his stops at a Washington camp and soon after the Huskies offered him.

After a quick chat at the camp with Washington receivers coach Brent Pease, Hawkins said he got the feeling an offer could be coming.
"I was hearing from them," Hawkins said. "I went to the camp and they told me they liked me a lot. After the camp the receivers coach pulled me aside and he told me we needed to stay in touch a lot and that they could be offering me very soon.
"I love Washington. I plan to take a visit up there and all I hear are good things about their facilities and their campus and their coaches. I kind of want to go check it out and see how it is for myself."
The Huskies are of high interest but Hawkins said it's still too early to name frontrunners. So far, Washington, Nebraska, Utah and Weber State have offered and the 2017 prospect wants to wait out the recruiting process a little longer before focusing in on top schools.
"I wouldn't say they're the early favorite," Hawkins said of Washington.
"I want to go through each school that offers me. I want to evaluate each of them. I don't want to make a rushed decision. I want to figure out whichever school I go to is a perfect fit and that I love it."
Also, there is plenty more interest coming in. The Buena Park standout said he is hearing from Arizona State, Cal, Washington State, Oregon State, Notre Dame and UCLA heading into his junior season.
