Hawkins considers more officials

Back in late October, Rivals250 cornerback Travis Hawkins made a pledge to Maryland. The Gaithersburg (Md.) Quince Orchard prospect maintains he's committed, but may take his two other official visits.
"It's a possibility that I go to Florida and West Virginia for visits," he said. "If I do they'll be on the 16th (Florida) and 23rd (West Virginia)."

Hawkins will first take an official to Maryland this weekend though.
"I'm going to talk more about it with Maryland on my official visit this weekend," he said. "I'm still committed to Maryland. I like the coaching staff and the players are cool. I haven't had a chance to learn about the academic side as much, I want to learn more this weekend."
Obviously the four-star prospect is considering the other two trips. Why Florida and West Virginia?
"I like Bill Stewart at West Virginia," he stated. "He's cool and straight up. Every time I go down there I have the utmost respect for him. I also like Coach Casteel. He's stayed in touch and my brother, Davon goes to school there.
"With Florida, I've been in touch with them too. I like Coach Strong a lot as well."
Hawkins confirmed he is down to these three schools.
The 5-foot-10, 181-pounder originally planned to enroll at a school this month, but those plans have changed.
"I changed it because I think I want to go on more visits," he said. "I am going to take three classes this semester and I plan to do some work at school with younger kids too."
