Hawkins choping his way to FSU

Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln standout Rona Hawkins has committed to Florida State, picking the Noles over offers from Georgia Tech, Clemson, LSU and Florida - along with about seven or eight more offers.
"It was just the right time to get it out of the way, Hawkins said. "It's just a great school. It's close to home, and you can't beat playing linebacker for the top team in the country."
Hawkins is just one of the handful of blue-chip propsects at Lincoln for the Class of 2002. So is he going to go out and get a few of his teammates to join him?
"I'm working on it," he said. "I think I'm going to go get Greg and Pat. They've always been big Florida State fans."
