Hawkins adding to list of offers

Channelview (Texas) High School receiver Chris Hawkins is preparing for a busy spring football period, when he hopes to build on his portfolio of offers.
The 6-foot-2 wideout holds offers from programs ranging from the Big 12 to Conference USA to the SEC. Kentucky, Houston, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas State and Tulsa have all made it official with Hawkins, but it appears no decision is in sight.

"Chris has been nursing a track injury but will be ready for the spring," coach Averion Hurts said. "He's pretty wide open right now because he is waiting to see what happens after spring practice. Schools like Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern and Arizona should be in soon to see him."
While evaluating Hawkins, recruiting coordinators will see lineman Cedric Steward and athlete Dominique Jefferson who are both Division I caliber.
"Coaches want to see how well Stewart moves and is Jefferson can move to receiver," Hurts said. "Dominique is moving to quarterback from receiver, so that shouldn't be a problem. He is receiving interest from Northwestern and Houston really like Cedric. They will be Division I players."
