Hawgs first official for DB

Florida International has two things working in its favor as it pursues Ocie Rose. First, it's close to home for the class of 2015 Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington cornerback. Second, Rose said the Panthers are working more than any other school to land him.
Will that be enough for the Panthers to fend off the SEC and others? Arkansas has offered, and Bowling Green recently threw its name into the hat that also includes Temple.

"FIU is pushing the hardest," said Rose, a three-star recruit who stands at 6-foot-1, 190 pounds. "They have a nice team, nice coaches. A couple of the coaches are always reaching out. I talk to them a lot."
Rose added that Bowling Green is "coming hard" as well. But Arkansas appears to be the biggest threat to FIU.
"They have a good defense and I like that they're in the SEC," Rose said. "They said I had nice movement with my hips and they like how I play the ball and that I'm hard-hitting."
Rose said he intends to make visits during the summer and Booker T.'s bye week during football season, with Arkansas' visit "probably" being official.
Of course, Rose is still looking to add more high-profile offers before it's all said and done, including Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State and Florida.
"I've had contact with most of them," he said of his wish list. "They tell me to keep showing up at their camps."
