Hawaiian behemoth takes first trip

Offensive lineman Ikaika Aken-Moleta (6-3, 295, 5.4) from Kapolei, Hawai'i is beginning to start his recruitment. Aken-Moleta is typical tough as nails offensive lineman that the Islands are famous for.
"I have offers from Oregon State, San Diego State and probably the University of Oregon," Aken-Moleta said. "I'm waiting on Washington, as they got the new coach there.'

Aken-Moleta is in the air about an hour away from landing from his recruiting trip to San Diego State. He also has other trips in the works.
"I'm going to set up one for Oregon State in January," Aken-Moleta said. "Oregon has invited me for some time in January."
Does Aken-Moleta have a favorite?
"Any school that offers me," Aken-Moleta said. "I'll look at them all."
"I just got through playing in the (Hawaii) all-star game," Aken-Moleta said. "I held myself pretty good. I made first-team all-state for the White Division."
In an earlier interview with Kapolei coach Darrin Hernandez he has this to say
"Ikaika is a very tough player," Kapolei coach Darrin Hernandez said. "He will be a three-year starter for us as a senior."
"Ikaika is very dedicated in the weight room and has made great strides there," Hernandez said. "He's a great young man on and off the field."
"Just to give you an indication of how tough he is," Hernandez said. "On one play last season, Ikaika lost his helmet, mouthpiece and a front tooth. He continued through blood and all to finish his block."
