Hawaii standout getting major play

He has no visits set up. He’s not sure if he has any “official” scholarship offers. Still, he remains one of Hawaii’s most highly recruited prospects.
His name is Samson Satele and he’s from Kailua, Hawaii.

Already, the 6-foot-4, 285-pound offensive lineman, who was an all-state selection as a junior, has taken phone calls from head coaches at Nebraska, Wisconsin, BYU and Hawaii, but that’s about the only thing he really “remembers” about his own recruitment.
“A lot of coaches call here,” Satele said. “It’s an honor to hear from so many great coaches.”
But even though his phone won’t stop ringing, Satele isn’t letting the attention go to his head. What’s more, he’s not even thinking about recruiting.
“To be honest, I want to focus on my school and how we do this year, then I can worry about recruiting after the season. I think some schools have offered me a scholarship, but I haven’t paid close attention to even tell you which ones.”
“My coach wants me to help the team win a championship and that’s the only thing on my mind.”
Kailua is 7-2 this season and should make the playoffs. Satele says the playoffs last until Christmas-time, which means he likely won’t take any official visits in the month of December.
He says he will probably begin to set visits up after his season is officially complete and he will take those in January.
Nebraska, Washington, Wisconsin, Hawaii, BYU, Oregon and Colorado are the teams he says he is considering. He declined to mention a leader among the group.
