Hawaii OL lands first offer

If there is one thing you can count on when recruiting the Hawaiian Islands it is talented big guys. One offensive lineman who is about to make a splash is John Manu-Olevao (6-3, 298, 5.2) from Kahuku, Hawai'i.
Since new Kahuku head coach Reggie Torres moved up from the junior varsity to take the helm he is well acquainted with Manu-Olevao.

"John has a lot of potential," Torres said. "He hasn't even begun to tap into his mass potential."
"The sky is the limit for John," Torres said. "He's a good physical specimen."
"The thing about John is he's a tenacious blocker," Torres said. "We won the state championship last year because of our running game and John was a big part of that."
Manu-Olevau hasn't had to do a lot of pass blocking but he has quick feet so the likelihood of him becoming a sold pass protector is high indeed. According to Torres, Manu-Olevao did a nice job in the pass blocking discipline when called upon.
Though Manu-Olevao is somewhat a sleeper, he has his first offer from New Mexico State.
Besides New Mexico State, the usual suspects are scheduled to be on the campus this spring. Colorado, BYU and Utah are supposed be on the Kahuku campus in the very near future.
Hawai'i is scheduled be at Kahuku next week. Oregon State and Washington will also find their way to Kahuku in the very near future.
