Hawaii LB is an elite level player

After watching the film of Honolulu (Hawaii) Kamehameha linebacker Mana Lolotai, we were more than just a little impressed. Lolotai in fact looks like one of the top 10 'backers in the West region and were a little surprised he's not hearing from schools all over the region.
Lolotai, 6-0, 220 pounds first caught our eye at the SoCal Nike camp where he clocked a 4.79 in the 40, jumped 27 inches in the vertical and did 23 reps on the bench. He also drew raves from the coaches for his play in the position drills showing good strength and solid cover skills as well.

On film, Lolotai is a heat seeking missile and a devastating hitter. He has great range and covers a lot of ground. The 'backer plays with great toughness and is as physical as any linebacker we've seen on the Islands this year in what is a strong group of linebackers in Hawaii.
On the recruiting front, Lolotai said the only call he has received thus far is from Utah.
"Utah offered me early on but that has been it so far," Lolotai said. "I'm still getting a lot of letters from schools like New Mexico, Colorado, Washington, Utah State, Oregon State and UNLV. I've also called up UH (Hawaii) on my own and talked to the coaches there a few times.
"Hopefully things will pick up and I think a lot of the schools are just waiting for me to get my grades up a little. I have a good test score (1090 SAT) but just need to pick up my core GPA a bit. I'm open right now and like all the schools showing interest in me. Our coach at Kamehameha for years, Coach Souza, left here and is now at Oregon State so that would be a good fit for me. I also have an uncle at UNLV, Keith Uperesa, and I've talked with him about playing at UNLV. I'm just going to focus on my season right now and try to be the best player I can be."
