Hawaii LB has flexibility

Linebacker Tysan Pa’aga (6-1, 215, 4.7) from Honolulu (Hawai’i) Punahou is another player from the Aloha State who could earn a D-I ride. Not only because of his overall toughness but because of his versatility.
Pa’aga has the ability to play inside or outside linebacker on the next level. He was an all-league selection as inside backer for Punahou.

Like many players from the islands, Pa’aga has good strength. He benches 330 and he’s recorded a 32-inch vertical jump.
“Tysan is a very solid football player,” Punahou coach Kale Ane said. “He’s fundamentally sound. Tysan plays the run and the pass equally well.”
“Tysan was one of our leading tacklers,” Ane said. “He has good range and a nose for the football.”
Nose for the football indeed. Pa’aga accounted for 120 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumbles recovered, two batted passes and one interception.
“Tysan is a very tough young man,” Ane said. “He has played out of position as a defensive lineman for the last two years.”
“This season Tysan will player linebacker,” Ane said. “A position that is a perfect fit.”
Pa’aga is getting recruiting action from Arizona State, Oregon State, Colorado, Army, Navy, Utah and Hawai’i.
