Haugabook plays the waiting game

Dodge City (Kan.) Community College quarterback Omar Haugabook can't explain it.
The 6-foot-2, 225-pounder earned honorable mention All-America honors after throwing for 2,425 yards and 21 touchdowns this season. He also rushed for an additional 413 yards and three scores, but for one reason or another people aren't really recruiting the Florida native.

"I'm shocked, especially since I get out in a few weeks," Haugabook said. "I thought at one point Kansas State was going to come through, and then I got an offer from SMU. But now it's really only a few schools.
"I'm going to visit Louisiana Tech this weekend. I know a little bit about them. Their offensive coordinator was just out here, but I've not been offered yet."
Haugabook said Ohio University and Marshall have also been in contact – but nobody has stepped up with an offer, which is amazing for the three-star prospect.
"I'm hoping somebody steps up," he said. "Otherwise, I don't know what's going to happen."
