Applewhite is a phenomenal athlete who has incredible explosion as his 41-inch vertical jump. “I’ve been dunking a basketball since the seventh grade,” Applewhite said.
Applewhite benches 280 pounds, squats 370 and power cleans 255.
This outstanding athlete was an all-league selection on both sides of the ball as a defensive end/tight end after accounting for 68 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, eight sacks, three fumble recoveries, two deflected passes and one fumble caused.
Applewhite played for a predominately for a running team so he only caught about five passes for close to 100 yards. What does that tell you about Applewhite’s blocking ability? The main reason Applewhite was selected all-league was because of his tremendous blocking skills.
“Our team ran 95% of our running plays to my side,” Applewhite said.
What is Applewhite looking for in a school?
“Location,” Applewhite said. “I would like to go away to school. If USC doesn’t offer I will probably the state.”
“I am for a school that has a coach that has a good and open personality,” Applewhite said. “I hope the coach will be open to his players. I am hoping that there will be a two-way street of communication between player and coach.”
“I also want to go to a school with a good veterinarian program,” Applewhite said. “I want to major veterinary medicine.”
Applewhite has offers pending from Kansas State, Washington State and Fresno State. The word is offers could be coming in September.
USC, Oregon, San Diego State, and UNLV are also in the hunt for Applewhite.
Look for Applewhite to see his stock soar this fall…
