Has Rashawn Ricks Committed

Can a player be committed to a school even if he hasn't verbally told them he's coming? In the case of Paterson (N.J.) Paterson Catholic linebacker Rashawn Ricks, the answer is....sort of.
"I didn't get a chance to get down there and tell Rutgers that I committed and I wasn't able to reach coach (Greg) Schiano by phone," said the 6-foot-2, 234-pounder. "But I guess they know I'm committed because I got a letter congratulating me on becoming a Scarlet Knight. I'll be sure to go down there or get in touch with them this week to make it official."

However, Ricks and his coach have decided to give it until the end of the summer before he stops the recruiting process altogether.
"If someone else offers, I might take a visit there just to compare," he said. "I figure by the end of the summer if I haven't heard from anyone else, I'll shut it down. I'm pretty confident I'm going to remain committed to Rutgers."
As a junior, Ricks made 110 tackles and had 15 sacks.
