Harvin rates UF a 10

The No. 1 player in the country, wide receiver Percy Harvin out of Virginia Beach (Va.) Landstown took his first official visit of the season this weekend to Florida. What did the 6-foot-1, 188-pounder with 4.4-second speed think of the Gators and their win over Tennessee?
"When I first got there I ate and then talked to the coaches a little bit," he said. "After that I got ready for the game and saw it and then went over to my host, Chad Jackson's house and to a party. I just hung out with him after the game and then this morning I had breakfast and toured the weight room.

"The visit was pretty much what I expected. The only thing I was going to see was what happens after the games and how it is there during the games."
What did the five-star prospect think of the Swamp?
"The game was electrifying and unbelievable," he said. "It can't be explained because you have to go and see it for yourself. You can sit next to a person and not hear them talk, it's a great atmosphere. It was also just a great game because of the rivalry and they played really well. Chad was in my position and he had 10 catches and they basically run the same thing we have at Landstown."
Harvin was able to talk to many of the players and coaches on his visit.
"I talked with Chad and he was pretty cool. I also got to talk with Dallas Baker and pretty much everybody. They were all really cool and laid back, I definitely enjoyed myself," he said. "I talked to all the coaches yesterday and today, but I pretty much knew how they were since I talk to them on a regular basis."
Overall, the No. 1 receiver in the country rated his trip to Florida a 10.
"There was nothing more I could have asked for," he said. "Right now, Florida is pretty much on top, but I still haven't weighed all my other options."
In other news, the No. 1 player in Virginia has cancelled his official to previous favorite Florida State and instead added a trip to Michigan on November 18th when they face Ohio State.
"Michigan has been recruiting me for a while and my sister goes to Eastern Michigan so it gives me a chance to see the game and chill with her a little bit," he said. "My mom wants to go see her too and it just works out better for us. It's a big game and it's the best for us to go to Michigan that weekend."
Does that mean Florida State is out of the running for Harvin?
"I wouldn't put them out yet because I still got one more official visit," he said. "If I do take another visit it'll potentially be to Florida State."
Last week Harvin and Landstown routed Princess Anne 63-6.
"I had four touchdowns including a 90-yard interception return, a 70-yard kick return, a catch for 36 and another for 56," he said. "I was pretty happy with my play, but it was Princess Anne. I think we're getting better as a team."
This week Landstown has stiffer competition when they face off against Kempsville.
