Harvey keeping options open

Lancaster, Texas athlete Nick Harvey has established himself among the top 2014 prospects in Texas. As such the pace of recruiting has been fast with offers already on the table as he enters his junior season.
Three games into the 2012 season Harvey and Lancaster sit 3-0, and Harvey feels good about where his recruitment is headed.

"It's been getting good since Sept. 1. We've been winning good ball games and everybody is playing well right now. All the recruiting is going well right now," Harvey said. "It's fun. I'm trying to make it as fun as I can and go through the whole process and stay humble at the same time. I like it but at the same time I have to stay humble."
At Lancaster, Harvey is a standout on offense, defense, and special teams. Whether he is lined up at cornerback or quarterback opposing coaches know where he is. On the college level, most of his looks are coming on the defensive side of the ball, but he brings playmaking ability wherever he steps onto the field.
"At receiver, I play like I can't be stopped by anyone, a corner or a safety," Harvey said. "Defense at corner I can play man-to-man and I can jam well or play off. At safety I can roam the whole field."
Harvey currently counts scholarship offers from Arkansas, Baylor, LSU, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, and Virginia. In the past, he has listed a group of leaders, but he says he is currently keeping his options open. He does have a group he is hearing from the most.
"Texas, OU, A&M, Baylor, LSU, Florida, and Arkansas," Harvey said. "I really like them and they keep in touch with me a lot so I really like them."
Of those schools there are two who are keeping in touch more than the others.
"Texas and Texas A&M," he said.
This summer he took unofficial visits to LSU, Texas A&M, Texas, and Baylor. The visits served their purpose as he was able to get an up-close and personal view about life as a student-athlete at each campus.
"All of them I like all their lifestyles and I liked their coaches and I liked everything about them," Harvey said.
Harvey does not have any unofficial visits currently on his schedule.
