Harrison off to fast start

After looking very good in several spring passing tournaments, Oxnard (Calif.) Rio Mesa athlete Josh Harrison is off to a very strong start to his senior season.
Harrison, 5-11, 170 pounds is a standout at both receiver and cornerback and is also one of the top track athletes in the region. Harrison was an all-league selection at defensive back a year ago and finished third in the state in the long jump a year ago.

This past weekend, Harrison had another big game catching 8 balls for 224 yards and two touchdowns including an 88 yard grab and added an interception. On the season, Harrison has 600 all-purpose yards and five touchdowns including a 90 yard kickoff return.
On the recruiting front, Harrison had early offers from Boise State, Nevada, Idaho and Idaho State and is hearing from a host of other schools as well.
"Arizona was by last weekend to see his game," Carl Harrison, Josh's father said. "Oregon, Washington and Washington State from the Pac 10 have all been in contact as well. Oregon came to watch him a few weeks ago and Washington's recruiter stopped by the school on Friday as well.
"In addition, Hawaii and Colorado State are in the mix along with the schools that have offered like Boise State. Right now, Josh is just keeping his options open and doesn't want to narrow his list to five or set up his trips until after the season is over. Right now, he wants to focus totally on the season and doesn't want anything to distract from helping get his team in to the playoffs."
