Harrison excited for first visit

Oxnard (Calif.) Rio Mesa's Josh Harrison is easily one of the state's best athletes. Not only does Harrison get it done on both sides of the ball but he's one of premier long jumpers in the region as well. The athlete will take his first official visit this weekend to one of the hottest programs in the West.
Harrison, 5-9, 170 pounds starred at both receiver and cornerback but will play receiver in college. The Spartans finished 12-2 this past season and Harrison finished the year with 40 catches for 876 yards and 10 touchdowns. He added 28 tackles and two picks on defense including one pick for a score and averaged 27 yards on kickoff returns and one more score.

On the recruiting front, Harrison will take his first official visit this weekend to Hawaii.
"I'm excited, I can't wait to get out there and see that game with Oregon State," Harrison said. "They haven't offered yet but said they were going to do it on the visit. I haven't scheduled my other visits but I plan to take all five and I have a good idea of what schools I'll be visiting.
"Basically, I have five schools for the last four visits. Utah, Boise State, Colorado State, San Jose State and TCU are the ones I'm looking at. I would like to take two more visits in December and the rest in January but if I'm just blown away on of the trips, I'll go ahead and commit. I won't do that this weekend because I want to go on at least two visits to have something to compare.
"What I may do is visit Boise State, Utah, Colorado State and TCU and then unofficially visit San Jose State since it's the closest school but I'm not sure. TCU just came in the picture and I like their track program a lot and that would be a bonus if I decide to long jump in college. Boise State has offered me already and Utah said they likely will be offering next week. Colorado State is close, I actually have to call them back right now and San Jose State and TCU have both said they'll take me right now if I wanted to come."
