Harris sets four visit dates

Highland Springs, Va. athlete Victor Harris has recently narrowed his list of schools from twelve to six and has now set dates for his first four official visits. Rated the top player from the state of Virginia, and the second best athlete in the nation, Harris is leaning towards playing cornerback at the college level.
“Victor will visit Southern Cal the weekend of Oct. 15, Michigan Oct. 29, Virginia Dec. 3, and Virginia Tech Dec. 10,” explained Highland springs coach Scott Burton.

Harris is also scheduling two additional visits to Maryland and Miami, but dates for those visits have not been set. According to Harris, this does not indicate that these schools are trailing the other four.
“The four visits we have set are just the first four schools we could coordinate schedules with,” stated Harris. “We’ve been working with Maryland and Miami also, but have not been able to lock in a date for a visit yet.”
Harris will take five of his six visits, but is undecided as to which one he may pass on. Catching game weekends at Southern Cal (hosting Arizona State), and Michigan (hosting Michigan State) was an important factor in setting those dates.
“Victor has been to Virginia and Virginia Tech for games before, so it’s not as important for him to be there on a game weekend,” admitted Burton. “But, for some of the other schools not in the region like Michigan and Southern Cal, it was an opportunity to see what these schools are like on gameday first hand.”
The dates for the Virginia and Virginia Tech visits are set pending a late season run deep into the state playoffs for Highland Springs. Should a conflict arise between a game weekend and an official visit, scheduled visit dates would be moved later into December or January.
On the season, Highland Springs is 2-0 heading into Friday night’s game against Freeman. Harris has rushed for 420 yards on 36 carries and scored 3 rushing touchdowns. He has also added a touchdown through the air, and one on an interception return.
