Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak defensive back Will Harris has taken two official visits thus far and is headed to the great Northwest for visit No. 3 this weekend.
“I’m leaving today for Washington State,” Harris said. “I wanted to move my trip up because I’m going to visit USC (Dec. 10) and want to get all my trips in before Christmas. I still may visit UCLA on the 17th but I haven’t heard from them lately. I’ve had home visits with Arizona State, Oregon, Washington State and San Diego State and USC will be coming in next Wednesday. Cal is coming in too but I don’t remember the date. I’m planning to make my decision at the CaliFlordia Bowl.”
Harris took his first official visit to ASU back in late October and then tripped to Cal two weeks ago.
“I liked both trips a lot and feel I would fit in well at both schools. If I had to rate against each other, I would say the Cal trip was a little better because I did more things there and just felt a little more comfortable. Both are good programs and I like the coaches at both schools but you have to really be impressed with the direction Cal is going right now. Coach Tedford has those guys ranked in the top five right now and he doesn’t even have all his players yet.
“USC is my top school right now but I’m still open. My top three is probably USC, UCLA and Cal but like I said, I haven’t heard as much from UCLA although Coach Bieniemy still talks to me a lot. I’m interested to see what Washington State has to offer. They always have a good secondary and have put a lot of players in to the league so I’m excited to see how everything goes.”
Harris finished his senior season with 93 tackles and five interceptions and is currently rated the No. 1 safety prospect in the West region.
