Harris recruitment still in infancy

Without naming any official favorites, four-star defensive back AJ Harris names Louisville as the school he's closest to for the time being. The Madison (Ala.) Bob Jones high School safety plans to visit Mississippi State and Miami this season, and hopes to earn an offer from the Hurricanes somewhere along the lines.

A class-of-2017 prospect, Harris has plenty of time to collect more scholarship offers and form opinions, so his recruiting outlook is certainly subject to change.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Harris hopes to collect offers with a big junior season. He started the year off with an impressive performance that included a key interception is his team's preseason game on Saturday and will hope to carry that momentum forward. Harris seems to be intrigued by Louisville and Ole Miss and hopes to visit Miami and Mississippi State this fall. He's also likely to attend a game at Ole Miss.
IN HIS WORDS: ""It's all pretty even, but it's mainly Louisville and Ole Miss," Harris told Rivals.com following Saturday's preseason contest. "I talk to Louisville more right now. I talk to them, like, a lot."
RIVALS' REACTION: There's really no telling what's going to happen here. Not yet anyway. Harris holds just three scholarship offers for the time being. So while it seems like Louisville and Ole Miss are establishing a solid relationship with the Rivals250 prospect, each new offer will change the landscape of his recruitment. Attempting to project where Harris may land at this early juncture is a worthless exercise.
