Harris is one to watch

Haynesville (La.) 2018 defensive end Jalan Harris already has the attention of college coaches. At 6-foot-2 and 245-pounds, Harris has the size coaches look for in potential prospects and his film shows the athleticism to go with it.
"Everything is good right now. It seems like things are about to pick up a little bit. I talk with LSU's coach Ensminger every week, and I've been getting a whole lot of letters and love from Arkansas, Miami, and Florida State lately."

LSU has shown the most interest at this point, and has let him know they like him at linebacker.
"Well, LSU is talking about outside linebacker," Harris said. "Coach Ensminger says he wants me to come down. I was supposed to make it to camp last high school session but I had a church thing going on that week so I couldn't make it. So I'm going to try my best to get down for the 15th. If I can't make it then coach Ensminger and I will set up a visit when I can come down there. He wants me to work out for the linebacker coach because he said the linebacker coach really likes me. "
The Tigers are not the only program trying to get Harris on campus soon. Ole Miss has also been hot on his trail.
"Coach Dave Wommack came to the school and watched me in spring ball this spring," Harris said. "He wanted me to come up and visit with them next month. He didn't talk camp he just wants me to come visit the campus and show me around the facilities and meet the staff and stuff."
Harris is attracting attention at both linebacker and defensive end and right now he is open to all position possibilities.
"It really doesn't matter to me," Harris said. "Right now I'm just not very sure about linebacker because I've never really had to play it. I've just played defensive end all my life. I did play middle linebacker in junior high for a little bit."
Harris has hit the camp circuit this summer with stops at the Arkansas State camp, Louisiana Tech camp, and ULL camp. He is looking forward to getting out and displaying his abilities in front of more and more coaches and attracting more and more attention.
